CPR Training

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

National units of competency

• HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

Assessment for this course consists of a short theory test and a practical demonstration of CPR and casualty management on both an adult and an infant. Participants must complete both components to demonstrate their understanding of CPR principles and correct CPR techniques.

The Australian Resuscitation Council recommends refreshing CPR skills annually to stay current with evolving standards and compliance requirements.

This accredited CPR course is designed for individuals who want the confidence and skills to respond effectively in an emergency. It’s ideal for anyone who may be required to perform CPR, whether in the workplace, at home, or in the community.

Pinnacle also offers a range of nationally recognised first aid courses to suit different needs, including:

• Provide First Aid – covering a wider range of medical emergencies.
• Occupational First Aid – for designated workplace first aiders.
• Child Care First Aid – tailored for those working in education and care settings.

Age requirements

Participants must be at least 14 years of age. Participants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to enrol and participate in this course. Consent will be obtained during the enrolment process, and a signed consent form must be submitted prior to the start of training. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy and Numeracy skills (LLN)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English.

Pinnacle Safety and Training supplies all required learning materials and safety equipment for this course.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. Due to the duration and cost of this short course, RPL assessment would have limited value to participants.

Credit Transfer

Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product. A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application.

It is important to note that while the unit/s of competency are eligible for Credit Transfer, you may be required to resit the training and assessment to meet industry or legislative requirements.

All training and assessment requirements are completed within the course duration. Participants are not required to undertake any additional study or assessment outside of the scheduled course time.

Consistent with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) recommendations, CPR should be refreshed every 12 months to maintain competency and to stay current with evolving standards and compliance requirements.

Your CPR training certificate remains valid for 12 months.

Yes. All students undertaking nationally recognised training with Pinnacle Safety and Training must have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).

The USI is a 10-character code (e.g., 3AW88YH9U5) that provides access to a centralised record of your training history. The Department of Education and Training regulates this and has been a requirement since 1 January 2015.

We cannot issue your certificate without a valid USI on file.
