ONLINE DELIVERY OVERVIEW

Our online Silica Awareness course is delivered via a flexible, online self-paced e-learning platform that allows participants to complete the course at their own convenience, from any location.

Participants can complete the course at their own convenience, from any location, gaining essential knowledge about asbestos-containing materials, associated health risks, and legal obligations for safe handling.

The course covers key topics, including understanding what silica is, recognising the health hazards associated with respirable crystalline silica dust, and identifying tasks and materials such as engineered stone that may lead to exposure. It also covers common control measures to minimise risk, including engineering controls, safe work practices, and the correct use of personal protective equipment.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This is a non-accredited training course. Students who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

Assessment is conducted through short quizzes designed to reinforce learning and test understanding. Participants must successfully complete each quiz to demonstrate their knowledge and receive their certificate of completion.

COURSE SELECTION

It is important to note that for workers in the Australian Capital Territory, WorkSafe ACT mandates that you must complete the ‘10830NAT Course in Silica Awareness’.

PREREQUISITES & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Age Requirements

Participants must be at least 15 years of age.Participants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to enrol and participate in this course. Consent will be obtained during the enrolment process, and a signed consent form must be submitted prior to the start of training. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a basic level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities.

    • Reliable internet connection
