Risk Facilitator (G2)

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

Assessment for this course includes both theoretical and practical components to ensure participants are competent in all aspects of risk facilitation. 

The theory assessment verifies understanding of key concepts such as effectively facilitate risk management processes in coal and metalliferous mining environments, including advanced techniques in hazard identification, risk assessment, control implementation, and communication, aligned with legislative and site-specific requirements. 

The practical assessment involves a simulated workplace scenario, where participants must demonstrate their ability to facilitate a risk management process. This includes identifying hazards, assessing risks, selecting and applying appropriate control measures using the hierarchy of controls, and outlining strategies for monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of implemented controls.

Our face-to-face delivery is ideal for those who value hands-on, in-person learning in a structured classroom environment. Led by experienced trainers at our purpose-built venues, this mode supports active engagement and real-time feedback. 

For those who prefer the convenience of learning from home, our online self-paced mode provides maximum flexibility for independent learners who want to study at their own pace.

Age requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Due to course restrictions, enrolments will not be accepted from individuals under 18 years of age, even with parental or guardian consent. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a moderate level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities.

Recognition of Prior Learning 

Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. Due to the duration and cost of this short course, RPL assessment would have limited value to participants. 

Credit Transfer 

Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product. A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application. 

It is important to note that while the unit of competency is eligible for Credit Transfer, the participant will receive a Statement of Attainment without the specific “Risk Facilitator” course name listed. This is due to the course being delivered in a contextualised format with specific methodologies, and course completion through attendance is required to achieve the intended learning outcomes.

All training and assessment requirements are completed within the course duration. Participants are not required to undertake any additional study or assessment outside of the scheduled course time.
