Risk Facilitator (G2) Refresher

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

• RIIRIS402E - Carry out the risk management process

Assessment for this course includes a theory quiz to confirm understanding of key concepts and legislative requirements. 

Participants will then complete a series of practical assessments involving the facilitation of a risk management process in a simulated workplace environment. These include identifying hazards, assessing risks, selecting and applying appropriate control measures using the hierarchy of controls, and outlining strategies for monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of implemented controls.

Participants will complete practical assessments by submitting video evidence of tasks performed in a simulated workplace setting. This requires access to video equipment, such as a webcam or smartphone, and the assistance of one volunteer. The volunteer must be 15 years of age or older and consent to being filmed.

Our online self-paced delivery mode supports independent learning while ensuring participants are equipped to lead structured risk management processes in the workplace.

Participants completing the online course will complete practical assessments by submitting video evidence of tasks performed in a simulated workplace setting. Prerequisites

To enrol in this course, each participant must submit evidence of having obtained the following unit of competency:

• RIIRIS402E - Carry out the risk management process (or equivalent)

This prerequisite must be uploaded to your online learning platform. 

Experience

Participants are expected to have experience in a supervisory role within the mining industry.

Age requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Due to course restrictions, enrolments will not be accepted from individuals under 18 years of age, even with parental or guardian consent. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a moderate level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities.

To complete this course, participants require:

• A desktop or laptop computer
• Internet browser (Chrome recommended)
• Reliable internet connection
• Ability to play sound
• Video recording equipment, such as a smartphone or webcam
• PDF reader
• Office Suite applications (Microsoft Office recommended)

Smartphones and tablets are not supported due to compatibility issues with some applications. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Recognition of Prior Learning

Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. Due to the duration and cost of this short course, RPL assessment would have limited value to participants.

Credit Transfer

Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product.  A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application.

It is important to note that while the unit/s of competency are eligible for Credit Transfer, you may be required to resit the training and assessment to meet industry or legislative requirements.

This course is delivered online and is entirely self-paced, allowing you to complete the content in your own time and at your convenience, within the 3-month enrolment period. Participants must ensure sufficient time in a quiet, focused study environment to absorb the content and complete the assessment tasks.
