Manual Handling Training

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

Assessment for this course includes both theory and practical components. All assessment tasks and trainer feedback is submitted through our online learning management system. Assessment for this course includes online quizzes to confirm theoretical understanding and practical scenario-based tasks. 

To complete one of the practical assessment tasks, participants will need access to a volunteer to assist you in a team lift. The volunteers must be at least 15 years of age and consent to being video recorded for the purposes of assessment. Participants will complete practical assessments by submitting video evidence of tasks performed in a simulated training environment.

Age requirements

Participants must be at least 15 years of age. Participants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to enrol and participate in this course. Consent will be obtained during the enrolment process, and a signed consent form must be submitted prior to the start of training. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a moderate level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities.

To complete this course, participants require:

• A desktop or laptop computer, with:
  • Internet browser (Chrome recommended)
  • Reliable internet connection
  • Ability to play sound
  • Video recording equipment, such as a smartphone or webcam
  • PDF reader
  • Office Suite applications (Microsoft Office recommended)

Smartphones and tablets are not supported due to compatibility issues with some applications. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

• One volunteer to assist with your practical assessment (the volunteer must be 15 years of age or older and consent to being filmed for assessment purposes)
• Suitable items to be used for the lifts (i.e. one small and one larger box or container)

Recognition of Prior Learning 

Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. Due to the duration and cost of this short course, RPL assessment would have limited value to participants.

Credit Transfer

Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product. A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application.

This course is delivered online and is entirely self-paced, allowing you to complete the content in your own time and at your convenience, within the 3-month enrolment period.Participants need to ensure that they allow sufficient time in a quiet, focused study environment to fully absorb the content and complete the assessment tasks.
