Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00019)

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496). 

The TAESS00019 Assessor skill set consists of the following national units of competency:

• TAEASS412 Assess competence
• TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation
• TAEDES411 Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs

Assessment for this nationally recognised TAE course includes both theory and practical components, with all assessment tasks and trainer feedback completed through our online learning management system. Participants will complete quizzes, written knowledge assessments, and practical tasks that demonstrate their ability to conduct competency-based assessments and participate in validation activities within an RTO environment.

Practical assessment requirements include submitting video evidence of tasks completed in a simulated training environment. Participants will also need access to four (4) volunteers aged 15 years or older to act as students during assessment activities and consent to being video recorded. Access to qualified RTO staff is required for validation activities, with Pinnacle’s virtual TAE Validation Workshop available as an alternative pathway if needed.

Age Requirements

Participants must be at least 18 years of age. Due to course restrictions, enrolments will not be accepted from individuals under 18 years of age, even with parental or guardian consent. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 12 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a strong level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities.
 

To complete this course, participants require:

• A desktop or laptop computer
• Internet browser (Chrome recommended)
• Reliable internet connection
• Speakers or headphones
• Microphone and webcam
• PDF reader
• Office Suite applications (Microsoft Office recommended)

Smartphones and tablets are not supported due to compatibility issues with some applications. Refer to our FAQ for more information. 

Role-play volunteers 

To complete a practical assessment task required for this course, you will need access to four (4) volunteers to play the roles of your students. These volunteers must be at least 15 years of age and consent to being video recorded for the purposes of assessment.

Recognition of Prior Learning 

Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. This decision has been made to ensure the integrity and validity of the training product. 

Credit Transfer 

Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product. A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application. 

It is important to note that while the unit of competency is eligible for Credit Transfer, this may not reduce the workload required. This is due to the course being delivered in a modular format, with learning and assessment activities clustered or integrated across multiple units.

This course is delivered online and is entirely self-paced, allowing you to complete the content in your own time and at your convenience, within the 3-month enrolment period. Participants need to ensure that they allow sufficient time in a quiet, focused study environment to fully absorb the content and complete the assessment tasks.
