VIRTUAL DELIVERY OVERVIEW

LEARNING OUTCOMES

Upon successful completion, graduates receive a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management (BSB40520), issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496), recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. 

The course comprises 12 units: five core and seven electives, carefully selected in conjunction with industry consultation to align with the needs and expectations of training professionals across Australia.

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

Assessment for this course includes both theoretical and practical components to ensure participants are competent in all aspects of the requirements of the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management.

The BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management includes a range of assessment activities designed to evaluate participants' understanding and practical application of leadership and management principles across a variety of workplace contexts. 

All assessments are completed through our online learning platform, providing a flexible and streamlined learning experience. Assessment activities may include written knowledge questions, workplace projects, case studies, leadership plans, team management activities, business documentation and practical tasks that demonstrate the ability to apply leadership, communication, problem solving, and operational management skills in the workplace.

 Participants are required to submit assessment tasks throughout the course to reinforce learning and progressively build their competency across each module. Regular submissions allow trainers to provide ongoing feedback and support while ensuring learners remain on track with their studies.

PREREQUISITES & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Age requirements:

Participants must be at least 18 years of age.

Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills (LLN)

Participants must have a level of literacy and numeracy sufficient to read, interpret, and write workplace documents and reports, as well as perform basic mathematical tasks. Prior to entry into the course, participants must complete an LLN assessment to ensure they meet the necessary skills for successful completion of the qualification.

Digital literacy

Participants must have a reasonably high level of digital literacy to effectively engage with the online components of the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management. This includes navigating online learning platforms, using email, accessing digital resources, and completing assessments using digital tools.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL) & CREDIT TRANSFERS

Recognition of Prior Learning 
Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. This decision has been made to ensure the integrity and validity of the training product. 

Credit Transfer 
Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product. Learners who have previously completed relevant nationally recognised training may be eligible for credit transfers into the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management. A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application. 

At Pinnacle Safety and Training, units in the BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management are delivered in clustered modules to enhance practical learning and assessment integration. If a learner is granted a credit transfer for all units within a module, they will not be required to complete the training or assessment for that module. However, if only some units within a module are credited, the learner must complete the entire module, including all related assessments, to ensure the full learning outcomes and practical requirements are met within Pinnacle’s structured delivery model.

COURSE WORKLOAD

The BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management is a comprehensive qualification requiring significant time and effort. This includes a combination of guided learning, self-paced study, practical assessments, and workplace-based tasks. 

In addition to attending scheduled classes, participants are expected to complete independent study and assessment tasks outside of class time. This includes reading course materials, preparing for assessments, and completing activities assigned between sessions. It is essential that all required tasks are completed prior to the next scheduled class day to ensure full participation, stay on track with the course schedule, and maximise learning outcomes. This additional study time is a key component of the overall course workload and success in the program.
