Working at Heights and Confined Space Combined

Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

• RIIWHS204E - Work safely at heights
• RIIWHS202E - Enter and work in confined spaces
• MSMPER200 - Work in accordance with an issued permit
• MSMPER205 - Enter confined space

Assessment for this course includes both pre-course and practical components to ensure participants are competent in the safe performance of work at height and confined space entry.

Prior to attending the face-to-face training, participants must complete two separate e-learning modules: one for working at height and one for confined space entry. These online modules assess foundational knowledge, including relevant legislation, risk management processes, and safe work practices.

During the face-to-face training, participants will undertake a series of practical assessments. These include demonstrating the selection, inspection, and use of height safety equipment in a variety of simulated workplace environments, as well as performing both vertical and horizontal confined space entries under permit conditions. Participants will be required to apply isolation procedures, conduct atmospheric testing, follow entry and exit procedures, and respond to simulated emergencies in line with organisational and legislative requirements.

Pre-Course Study and Assessment

Participants must have successfully completed both the Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry pre-course e-learning components prior to attending the scheduled face-to-face training.

Age requirements

Participants must be at least 15 years of age. Participants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to enrol and participate in this course. Consent will be obtained during the enrolment process, and a signed consent form must be submitted prior to the start of training. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a basic level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities..

Recognition of Prior Learning

Pinnacle Safety and Training does not offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for this course. Due to the duration and cost of this short course, RPL assessment would have limited value to participants.

Credit Transfer

Pinnacle Safety and Training offers Credit Transfers for this training product.  A Credit Transfer is granted where the previously attained unit of competency has been achieved. After enrolment, participants are eligible to submit a Credit Transfer application.

It is important to note that while units of competency are eligible for Credit Transfer, this may not reduce the workload required. This is due to the course being delivered in a modular format, with learning and assessment activities clustered or integrated across multiple units. 

This course requires participants to complete the theoretical learning and assessment prior to attending the face-to-face practical portion of the course. Participants must ensure that they allocate sufficient time in a quiet, focused study environment to engage with the content and complete all required assessment tasks.
