Advanced First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This Advanced First Aid and Advanced Resuscitation course is designed for individuals responsible for providing a higher level of emergency response and managing first aid services in the workplace. It equips participants with the skills and knowledge to assess and manage a wide range of medical emergencies, coordinate first aid activities, and oversee the use and maintenance of first aid equipment and resources.

Participants will learn to perform advanced resuscitation techniques, including CPR using a bag-valve-mask, administering oxygen therapy, and using suction devices and oropharyngeal airways. The course also covers the management of a casualty with life-threatening bleeding requiring the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings.

Training includes applying basic triage during multiple casualty incidents, communicating with emergency services, completing incident reports, and participating in post-incident evaluations. Emphasis is placed on the safe use of resuscitation equipment, the coordination of casualty handovers, and supporting team members following critical incidents.
