ONLINE DELIVERY OVERVIEW

Our Hazardous Chemicals Awareness course is delivered via a flexible, online self-paced e-learning platform that allows participants to complete the course at their convenience, from any location. 

This course provides participants with an understanding of hazardous chemicals and dangerous goods, including their health, environmental, fire, and explosion risks. Participants will learn how chemicals can enter the body, the potential health effects of exposure, and the legal requirements for managing hazardous substances in the workplace. 

The training also covers reading labels and Safety Data Sheets (SDS), conducting risk assessments, maintaining chemical registers, and implementing safe handling, storage, segregation, and transport practices. Participants will develop the skills to respond to spills and emergencies while meeting workplace safety procedures and responsibilities. This flexible online format allows participants to progress at their own pace, making it ideal for busy professionals.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

This is a non-accredited training course. Students who complete this course will receive a Certificate of Completion. This certificate is issued by Pinnacle Safety and Training (RTO 40496).

ASSESSMENT INFORMATION

This course includes a series of knowledge check questions embedded throughout the content to reinforce learning and support understanding of key concepts. Participants will also complete quizzes designed to assess their retention of information and overall comprehension of privacy principles and obligations.

PREREQUISITES & ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Age requirements

Participants must be at least 15 years of age.Participants under the age of 18 must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to enrol and participate in this course. Consent will be obtained during the enrolment process, and a signed consent form must be submitted prior to the start of training. Refer to our FAQ for more information.

Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital skills (LLND)

Participants are required to have at least a Year 10 level of numeracy, literacy and communication skills and be able to read and write in English. This course requires a basic level of computer literacy to navigate the online learning system and complete required activities.

COURSE WORKLOAD

This course is delivered online and is entirely self-paced, allowing you to complete the content in your own time and at your convenience, within the 3-month enrolment period. Participants need to ensure that they allow sufficient time in a quiet, focused study environment to fully absorb the content and complete the assessment tasks.
