ABOUT THIS COURSE
This Lock out Tag out (LOTO) course provides essential knowledge for individuals who work with or around plant and equipment that requires isolation to prevent the uncontrolled release of hazardous energy. Participants will gain a clear understanding of hazardous energy sources, the consequences of isolation failures and the legal requirements for safely isolating plant and equipment.
The course covers key topics including understanding relevant legislative and workplace requirements, recognising sources of hazardous energy and the risks of inadequate isolation, identifying roles and responsibilities in the isolation process, planning and preparing for simple and complex isolations, selecting and applying appropriate lockout devices and safety tags, verifying effective isolation, monitoring control measures while plant is isolated and safely carrying out de-isolation procedures.
