ABOUT THIS COURSE
This Remove Non-Friable Asbestos and Remove Friable Asbestos combined course provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely remove both friable and non-friable asbestos-containing material (ACM) and asbestos-containing dust and debris (ACD). It covers the full removal process, including preparation of the work area, construction of enclosures for friable asbestos removal, and the safe execution of removal procedures for both types of ACM. The course also addresses air and health monitoring requirements, as well as essential procedures for the decontamination of workers, equipment, and the work area. Correct techniques for packaging, disposal, and site clean-up are also covered.
Participants will gain an understanding of the key legislative and licensing requirements applicable to asbestos removal, supporting compliance with state and national regulations. Topics include the health risks associated with asbestos exposure, planning and conducting risk assessments, the use of asbestos registers and management plans, safe work practices, and the accurate completion of documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
